Pak vs Sri lankaMirpur: Pakistan relied on a clinical display to storm into the final of the Asia Cup after thrashing a hapless Sri Lanka by six wickets to record their second successive victory on Thursday.
After bundling out Sri Lanka for a paltry 188 all out in 45.4 overs, the Pakistanis rode on captain Misbah-ul-Haq (72 not out) and Umar Akmal's (77) record 152-run partnership to cruise to a comfortable victory with a bonus point and with 61 balls to spare at the Sher-e-Bangla National stadium.
India vs Bangladesh
Mirpur: Having beaten Sri Lanka comfortably on Tuesday, India now shift focus to hosts Bangladesh for the fourth match of the Asia Cup at Mirpur's Shere Bangla National Stadium on Friday. Considering the looming fixture against Pakistan on Sunday, India will want to wrap up a win over Bangladesh to ensure there are few jitters going into the most anticipated match of the tournament. For the hosts, a win is the only way to stay in the competition.
A win here will guarantee India's place in the final, while knocking out Bangladesh. Their win over Sri Lanka was set up by a double-century partnership between centurions Gautam Gambhir and Virat Kohli and a whirlwind finish from MS Dhoni and Suresh Raina, and the finishing touches applied by Irfan Pathan's four wickets. Back in friendlier conditions than in Australia, India looked a much stronger unit. Against Bangladesh, who bowled and fielded well against Pakistan on Sunday, they should look to replicate their recipe for victory: get settled in, push the scoring rate after the batting Powerplay, and finish off strongly.
New Zealand vs SouthAfrica
Hamilton: Recalled fast bowler Mark Gillespie took five wickets for 59, but heavy hitting by AB de Villiers and Morne Morkel helped South Africa build a 68-run first-innings lead over New Zealand by tea on the second day of the second Test on Friday.
De Villiers made 83 and Morne Morkel, batting No 10, hit an unbeaten 35 from 44 balls as South Africa escaped from 88-6 to reach 253, easily surpassing New Zealand's first innings of 185.
